Question about Panasonic SC-HT75 System

1 Answer

Error Code:DVD HO2

I have had the SA-HT75 DVD changer for 4 years now with no previous problems but now it will not read any discs which I put in. I can hear the motor working but I dont think the laser is able to read the disc at all. After the motor spins 4 times, the 'DVD HO2' message appears breifly and then the display says 'No Disc'.

Could anyone please tell me what the problems is or how to fix it?

Thanks

Sony cdp-c215 wont read disc removed cover disc doesn't spin

The pladder motor that spins the disc is open, or the laser pickup is defective, the whole laser assembly would need to be replaced, not cost effective to repair cheaper to buy.

The laser has failed. They all go this way. Throw it away and don't buy Panasonic next time.

Place DVD in any slot and it says "reading disc" then "no disc"

When you get no disk error, that is usually because of a problem with the optical laser lens that is dirty, faulty or opaque, and will start operating on certain disks better than others.

In that case you will hear disk spinning, whirring and clicking, but the TOC (table of content track at start of CD/DVD will not be read, therefore the error.

Whe this problem is starting you may be able to read only CD, DVD or Blue ray, or for example only DVD-R and not +R , or only to read and not to write and so on. After more prolonged usage , often the unit goes losing the rest of functions, and ends up not reading anything at all.

If instead there is no noise, and disk does not spin at all , then there is a faulty motor, or the motor micro-switch is bad. This situation is far less common than the lens problem.

Try first using a CD/DVD or Blue ray lens cleaner disk to clean the lens. If that does not work you will need to disassemble the drive , and clean lens directly with q tips and isopropyl alcohol, or to replace the CD/DVD lens, or the whole drive unit.

Laser/traverse deck needs replacement.Spindle motor fails to spin.If loaded disk will not turn give it a slight push to get it started. If it runs the motor is bad and the traverse deck needs replacement. Not an easy fix.You need to know specific procedures and alignments.

Get a lens cleaning disc and try to clean the laser lens first. If that doesnt help, your going to need to have the unit serviced.
