How do I remove the sticky residue from a label placed on the outside of my new refrigerator without damaging the finish?

I cannot remove the sticky residue left by a label placed on the outside of my new refrigerator. Soap and water and baby lotion do not remove it. What should I use?

Soak a cotton ball with WD-40 (or equivalent) and apply it to the sticky residue area. Allow it to penetrate for a couple of minutes. Then gently wipe the area with that same cotton ball until it loosens and picks up the adhesive residue. Once that's done, simply cleanse the treated area with any dishwashing liquid or similar. Rinse and wipe dry.

Tivoli radio sticky case

I have the yellow songbook and it was so sticky and dirty after only a couple of years. I only use it inside, so I removed the sticky coating with nail polish remover and a ton of cotton balls. It worked really well on the yellow one - the finish is a little dull so it matches how it looked when it was new. And it's so clean now!

You can purchase Sticky Label Remover from somewhere like Maplins. This can be ordered on line from thier website www.maplin.co.uk if you are in the UK. I would advise trying a small section first to test it on your facia.

I have thin baked on sticky residue in my microwave. How do I clean it without damaging it?

Wet a hand towel or multiple layers of paper towel and lay it over the sticky residue and turn the unit on high for 20 to 30 seconds to heat it. Then use a plastic spatula to scrape it off. The heating should loosen it up and the plastic spatula should be safe to scrape without damaging it.
