Version maps: 2012 pioneer avic x1.My system worked fine until yesterday. I can not enter a new route. Buttons are greyed out. Only Home button is working. I set the system back to factory defaults which did not help. After that I did a hard reset with the paperclip (near eject button). This did not resolve the problem either.

GPS has global coverage. I see your problem is sourcing the map of Australia because the x1 comes only with Europe maps on CD. there may be a possibility the S2 maps work on the x1. Try contacting Pioneer Australia http://www.pioneer.com.au/customerservice/

Avic-x1 touch screen buttons all grey. Cant search address, postcode, all buttons on first screen except go to and return home, other pages ok. reset system a few times which fixes it for a little bit but...

How is your touch, properly ok? If not you will need to replace the touch screen of the GPS device your using .. it should be available at pioneer electronics.com.

Try to rest the system if it still do the same try to reinstall the software which you can download from the internet. . If it doesn't work , feel free to add comment then i will give you other tips.

Avic n2 says route calculation not possible.

Lots of burned disc are low quality and files are corrupted. The map is OK because it encoded on the outter layer. But when you try to access navi menu which is encoded on the second layer then it won't work. Buy older original discs, even severely scratch they still retains the file and works fine. Let me know if you need help to down grade to older version. Because new oem version can be expensive. Goodluck.

Pioneer AVIC-D1 Touch Screen Recalibration

If your pioneer AVIC car navigation unit does not register your touches or the wrong button is “pressed”, you need to re-calibrate your screen’s digitizer.

1-Hold the Eject button down until the face of the unit drops all the way
2-Using a pen hold down the reset button (just above the joystick) and the navigation disc eject simultaneously.
3-Release the reset button.
4-Release the dvd eject button next. The display will read “press reset”
5-Push the joystick up two times.
6-Push the joystick down twice.
7-Press the joystick in.
8-The service menu will appear after a short pause. You can navigate the service menu using the joystick.
9-Chose the first menu option and press in on the joystick.
10-Trace the screen with a stylus.
11-"P.ADJ" is the back button
12-Chose the second menu item in order to calibrate the touch screen. Use a stylus again and tap the "+" sign on the screen. (You may have to touch slightly off center if the digitizer is damaged. In which case things will still be off but it will be much better.)

AVIC X1

tune the station then press & hold the number you want it stored on...

If it bleeps and looks like it is stored. then you turn the ign off & you loose them again...

Then you should check the constant 12v & the Ign 12v as they may need swapping.

Pioneer in-dash navigation system AVIC-D1

Hi, You set the screen so its all the way down and hold down the dvd eject then the reset button for a few seconds, then let off of the reset button, keep the eject button held down for another few seconds. Then the screen will say press reset. instead using the joystick, press up,up,down, down then push it in at the center. It will come up with options. the first one is touch screen test. using the joystick click on that one and do the calibration test. You will then have to trace the outline of the screen, while you are on the right side of it, trace it short to make up for the buttons on the right side. when you finish push the joystick in. it will say "settings ok" then go down to the 4th one, i think, and it will say something like test calibration settings and go to that one. It should say that the settings were saved. After that shut the key off and turn it back on and it should be good to go.

MY MONITOR SCREEN DOES NOT COME OUT HELP PLEASE

hi Bips07.
Apparently, this model has an Achilles heel...the ribbon that controls screen extension/retraction. I believe Pioneer extended warranties on this model to 4 years if purchased via a pioneer main dealer or sub contractor. Problems normally occur within 18-24 months from new. I assume your unit is at least 18 months old. Best to contact place of purchase or Pioneer directly.
