the 5 blinks is indicating the lamp driver (ballast) has failed. You can get the replacement ballast for your model at the top of the following page http://tvcircuitboards.com/sony_projection__dlp_circuit_boards They can also assist with installation information,
That can be caused by either the G1 or the G2 board. However the G1 board is more suspect for the 10 Blink error code. You can get both boards from www.tvrepairworld.com
Look and see if your TV has any sign of warping on or around the lamp cover as there is other damage that may result in the poor design of these TV's. Here is a link to the official Sony support page for these issues so posibly if your TV does exihbit the warping then possibly they will cover repairs on your TV if you complain enough to them.
Sony has extended the warranty for this problem until December 2008, so act quickly to get it repaired. You can find information on getting service here:
