Hi Jared,

The EX-10 was never intended to be an accessory to the IDA-X300, but should work with FM modulation like any other radio, by making sure the FM frequency is set the same on both units. There are four preset channels in the EX-10 but you can change each one to any frequency.

As for the bluetooth mic connection, you must have that connected for the bluetooth to work. You are better off installing a KCE-400BTi handsfree kit to get better functionality, increased phone compatibility, increased audio quality and the ability to use all of the newer iPods (Gen 2 iTouch, Gen 4 Nano and iPhone 3G).

Hope it helps,

Marcel.

Is there an adapter I can purchase to be able to play an IPOD with my alpine cde 9841 car cd receiver stereo?

Your headunit doesn't have the option of a plug i Ipod cable, The only way to use it with your stereo is to get an FM Transmitter and you tune into the ipod through the radio.

Hello my car is equipped with a Sony CDX-L410X head unit and i want to be able to connect my ipod directly to the head unit. the head unit does not have an aux or usb port on the front does it have an...

Hello! Maybe I can help with your question. This model headunit does not support ipod control. It does not have rear or front inputs via 1/8mm jack that you could use the headphone output. You only have a couple of options here. First would be to purchase a wireless fm modulator that would transmit the ipod output through your cars antenna. (i.e. set the radio to 88.1, 88.3, etc) These can be purchased at Radio Shack, Wal-Mart, etc. The only other option would be to replace the headunit with a compatable unit. We sell a Kenwood for $139 that has a front USB port as well as the aux input. The USB on this unit reads droid phones and ipod. That model number is KDC-248U. Hope this helped! Good luck with your venture!

Why do i have 2 blue wires at head unit and 1 has a white stripe

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

The blue wire is intended to be connected to power antennas and would be active in tuner (AM/FM) mode while the blue/white is remote trigger for external amplifiers, active as long as the headunit is turned on.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

Hook up an ipod to this stereo

Get the Alpine KCA 420i adapter. I've had it for about 3 years and no problems. You can install the module anywhere and run the wire for the ipod just about anywhere. You can go through all of your ipod folders on the headunit. However, you will find out quickly that it can be a pain using the Alpine headunit interface tiresome on the CDA 9830 model and others similar from a few years back. I don't know if other head units have solved this issue.
