Possibly a bad battery connection
(but highly DOUBTFULL)...
If you recently had your batteries changed...
Get some real ones.
If these are your original batteries...
Notwithstanding contemporary internet "WISDOM" lithium
batteries can develop a memory... (show a charge... but NOT DELIVER: not nearly a bad as their UGLY little cousins. "Ni-Cads (but still... ))"... and need to be "deep-cycled" for best operation.
These batteries have an effective life of about 800 to 1000 charges.
The proof was what just happened to you.
(If you have the time & dedication... NICE LONG-WINDED-TELEPHONE Calls are the best way to run down your battery...
if you have the time & inclination... and CLEARLY HAVE NOT had you 800 charge cycles...
ELSE...
just have the battery replaced... Figure about $80...
and take it to your reputable retailer...
There are cheesy counterfeit batteries EVERYWHERE... in my less than humble opinion.
((EVEN though I'm usually all about DIY... I love electronics & work on watches... I brought my cell phone back to the store...
It's EMERGENCY equipment)).
A far as BEING ABLE TO SPOT FAKES... pure HOKUM:
We are dealing with the finest counterfeiters on the PLANET
