You need to have the programming software and cable. It is an older radio and I do not think it is Narrowband capable, meaning you cannot legally transmit in the USA.

The answer to your question depends on the radio model. Some radios have the capability when being programmed to have wide- or narrowband designated by channel. An example would be current model Motorola business/commercial radios such as the CP200.

Radios produced in the early 2000s were sometimes manufacturered in just one type of channel spacing. In these radios the entire radio is either wideband or narrowband.

In radios produced prior to 2000, most all were wideband only.

none of the LMH radios are narrow band capable, also no "L" series radios are narrow band capable. Most "E" series are though.

Most Motorola portables manufactured during the past five years or so are capable of being programmed for narrowband operation. A definite exception is the Saber which is strictly a wideband radio.

The narrowband-capable versions of the HT1000 have a model number ending in "DN." Some of the previous models ending in "CN" may or may not be narrowband-capable.

With BK radio the "H" tells you it is VHF "U" is UHF. So LPH, GPH, DPH, GMH are all VHF.A EPU would be a UHF. Michael
