I to have lost my cable....

  • Anonymous Nov 26, 2007

Yes. I lost the cable for this product. Wish I knew when I bought it that a replacement was not available. I was told by RCA in September 2007 that there would be a replacement cable in about a month. It is now the end of November 2007 and still no closer to the cable.

I'm having the same problem. I called RCA. They told me that the cable was out of stock and that they can't place an order because they have no back order date. They suggested I try best buy or circuit city for one. I went to best buy and they told me that they don't carry them??? I might just buy a new one and return it without the cable then let RCA figure it out!!!

they said to check back again in Late Feb

Wal-Mart carries these to the best of my knowledge and they definitely have them on their website.
Here's what I did when I lost mine:
1. Buy a new one and keep the receipt
2. Take out the cord
3. Bring it back to Wal-Mart and say you opened it and it didn't have a cord (you have to bring it back in like a week or so).

If you don't want to do that, i think you can call RCA and get a replacement

The cable in Solution #2 and #4 was originally designed for the Ipod Shuffle but apparently fits the Opal, too. You can get them on Ebay for about $4.00, including shipping! Just search on Ebay for an Ipod Shuffle cable.

I just bought a ipod shuffle 1st or 2nd generation cord and wall charger and it works fine. Paid 19.95 at Best Buy. Went on ebay and got a cord only for .01 and 3.99 shipping. I think I will return the one to Best Buy !!!!!!!!

There is a hold switch on the right side of your mp3 player. Just flip it off and you should be good to go, otherwise if it is froze, just take a pin and push the reset hole on the back

hope this helps

I work at RadioShack and have had a few customers ask about this. We don't have one specifically for the RCA mp3 players, I had a hunch that the charger for the iPod Shuffle (the newer one, not the older one) would work. As it turns out, it does. You can order one through our stores or website that's made by DLO (catalog # 55025326 ), though most electronic retailers carry some sort of charger for the Shuffle already, and you can easily find them online, too.

Hi, you can try to upgrade the player's firmware, you can download it from the RCA Website (moz-screenshot.jpgmoz-screenshot-1.jpghttp://support.rcaaudiovideo.com/downloads.aspx?product=187), the firmware it's the second app listed.
If your computer doesn't recognize the player, you'll have to turn it off and keep "PLAY" pressed for 10 seconds while connecting it to the USB port, then update the firmware.
