Clean the contacts on the cartidge and printer ( open the replace ink door wait for the printhead to come to center and turn off power) if that does not work then replace cartridge, it might be a recycled one that they did not chane the chip.

SOURCE: lexmark x6650 will not identify new cartridges

Please contact Lexmark Technical Support and let them know that you need two replacement cartridges for the two defective ones you have.

Make sure that you purchased factory new Lexmark cartridges, not cartridges that have been refilled and repackaged by a third party company.

Lexmark cs 410dn EN E4 16 error

The "E4 16" error message on a Lexmark CS410dn printer indicates that there is a problem with the printer's toner cartridge. This can be caused by a variety of issues, such as:
  1. The toner cartridge is not properly installed in the printer.
  2. The toner cartridge is not compatible with the printer.
  3. The toner cartridge has reached the end of its useful life and needs to be replaced.
  4. The printer's firmware is out of date and needs to be updated.
To resolve the issue, you should try the following steps:
  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power outlet.
  2. Open the printer's front cover and ensure the toner cartridge is properly installed.
  3. Clean the electrical contacts on the toner cartridge and the printer with a dry, lint-free cloth.
  4. Reinstall the toner cartridge in the printer, being careful to align it properly.
  5. Turn on the printer and check if the error message is cleared.
If the error message persists, you may need to check the compatibility of the toner cartridge with your printer model, and the age of the cartridge. If the cartridge is old, you might need to replace it with a new one.
Updating the firmware of the printer can also solve the problem, check the Lexmark website for update on the same.
In case the problem persists after trying all the above troubleshoot, please contact Lexmark support for further assistance.

I have a Lexmark C522 Color Laser printer, all cartridges are showing as ok, no error messages but printed pages have specks of magenta toner on them

It sounds as though you have a leaking toner cartridge. If you aren't using Lexmark brand toner, that is VERY likely.. nobody seems to be able to make a good compatible cartridge. Test by replacing it.

Cartridges error on a lexmark

Error: "Invalid Toner Cartridge"; Error: "Invalid Refill"; Message: "Change Cartridge"
Solution
One of these error messages may appear on the printer display immediately after or shortly after a new toner cartridge is installed into the printer. Note: This may not be specifically a toner cartridge problem; the error may be due to a stuck cover open switch on the printer.

To see if the cover open switch is the cause of this problem, open the top front cover and observe the message on the printer's display panel. The display should read Close Door or Insert Cartridge.

If this message is not displayed, the top cover open sensor and switch will need to be replaced. In addition, the printer may have damaged the new toner cartridge. If the cover open sensor is not operating properly, a new cartridge can be incorrectly flagged as a refilled cartridge by the printer. If this happens, the new cartridge will continue to cause an Invalid Refill or Invalid Cartridge error even if you try reinstalling it or installing it into another printer. If this should occur, please contact the point of purchase of the cartridge to find out how to get the cartridge replaced.

Caution: If the cover open sensor is not operating, do not install another new toner cartridge until you have completed the directions below. Inserting another new cartridge can cause that cartridge to stop working as well. Should this situation arise, please take the following actions:

Place the original working cartridge (the empty or near-empty one) back into the printer. This should clear the error message.

Turn the printer off. Doing this will disengage the cover open sensor.

With the printer switched off, open the top lid and remove the old toner cartridge.

Now replace the old cartridge with another new Lexmark toner cartridge.

Power the printer back on. The printer should now read this cartridge as a newly installed toner cartridge and the error should be cleared. The printer and toner cartridge should function properly now, but the top cover sensor on the printer will still need to be replaced.

If your printer is still under warranty or covered under a service contract, please contact Lexmark Technical Support or your service provider for further recommendations and instructions. Until you can get the cover open switch replaced, remember to have the printer powered off whenever you replace the toner cartridge.

If the top cover switch appears to be working fine, or if you have followed the above steps and your printer continues to post an Invalid Toner Cartridge or Invalid Refill error, make sure you are using a new original Lexmark toner cartridge. A toner cartridge remanufactured or refilled by a third party can cause this error.

To help identify a refilled cartridge, look for the yellow label attached to the toner drum and the body of the toner cartridge. If this is damaged or removed, the cartridge may have been refilled.

If you are using a third-party refilled or remanufactured toner cartridge, it is recommended that you install a new Lexmark brand toner cartridge. Lexmark cannot guarantee the compatibility of any third-party toner cartridges with our printers.

OR

1 Switch on the Lexmark X83 printer.

2 Lift open the cartridge door at the front of the device, below the scanner unit. The printer automatically moves the cartridge carrier to the correct position.

3 Pull each ink cartridge toward you to unclasp it from the carrier. Lift the cartridge out of the cartridge carrier.

4 Clean the copper contacts on the bottom of each cartridge with a clean, dry lint-free cloth. Use a gentle, circular motion to clean the contacts.

5 Insert the ink cartridges back into the cartridge carrier. Push back firmly on each cartridge until it snaps into place.

6 Repeat each step in this procedure again. Close the cartridge door.

Lexmark e260dn toner light blinking orange

Solution: If you replace the toner cartridge and the 'Toner Low' message remains, the printer may need to be reset.
To do so, power off the printer. Let it sit 20 to 40 seconds, then power it back on. If the 'Toner Low' message does not appear on power-up, try printing again.
If the 'Toner Low' message returns on power-up or when printing, confirm the following:
  • The toner cartridge you just installed is a brand new toner cartridge and not a used one.
  • The toner cartridge is an original Lexmark brand toner cartridge. Cartridges manufactured by a third party may not be compatible with the printer.
If a third-party cartridge is causing this issue, contact the point of purchase for additional support or replacement of the toner cartridge.
  • The toner cartridge has not been refilled or refurbished by a third party. If it has, contact the place where it was refilled to have it replaced.

Still Need Help? Should you confirm all the above and the 'Toner Low' message remains, have the following available when calling Lexmark Technical Support;
  • Printer model(s)
  • Printer serial number
  • Toner/imaging unit/waste toner bottle part number and serial number

Nice job on trying different ways to resolve the problem - turning off/on the printer, removing power source, reseating the cartridges and even changing the cartridge with a genuine Lexmark cartridge. You pretty much did the necessary. Genuine Lexmark cartridges shouldn't cause you that much trouble. I strongly suggest you contact Lexmark technical support to further investigate the problem.

Lexmark E320 - new cartridge poor print quality

Hello,

Have you cleaned the print head surface lately? It is located directly above the top of the toner cartridge which you need to remove to do this right. Now using a dry soft cloth reach inside and find the narrow slot and carefully go back and forth with the cloth (sharp metal edges be careful). If this does not solve the problem next try removing the toner cartridge and clean the metal contacts inside the printer on your bottom left side when looking into the open printer also it would pay to remove the transfer roller on the bottom inside this has two black tabs that release the roller the one on your left (again looking into open printer) should have a metal strip that should be free of toner on both sides this will also cause poor print.

Lexmark E320 Printing big black smear

1. Make sure that you removed the entire paper jam and that nothing is caught in the fuser assembly (the part that gets hot so make sure it is cooled off first, also do not use anything to dig at anything that might be there try carefully using a tweezer or needle nose pliers to pull it out.
2.Remove the toner cartridge and with a dry cloth or a pencil eraser clean off the contacts on your left when facing the inside of printer and the roller on the bottom can be wiped off to remove excess toner.
3.With toner cart. still out use a dry cloth to wipe the laser print head area located directly above the roller on the bottom of the printer be careful as the metal edges are sharp.
4.If there is a build-up of toner at the entrance of the fuser try gently removing it with a flat blade screwdriver with care.
5.If this doesn't help it may be necessary to replace the toner cartridge itself.
