Tv made a sound, not popping, but loud. Hard to describe, then went out no pic. or sound about an hour later while watching it. Replaced lamp almost 2 years to the day ago. Took the lamp out & chkd. the plastic case was cracked, otherwise the lamp looked fine. Alot of dust in the area around the case, cleaned it out but can't locate the air filter, or how to get to fans. TV has always made VERY LOUD popping sounds, but we can hear fans. Don't know if all the fans are running though. Don't know if the cracked case is a sign of over heating. Any help would be appreciated.
The red light means that the prjection bulb needs to be replaced. They ony last about two years depending on hours of use. The low popping sounds as well as fan noise is normal for the Sony projection TV. You can Google the owners manual by entering the brand,model etc. and ask for the owner's manual. I had to go to several sites but eventually found it.
