Volume icon appears in the middle of my iPad 3 screen and won't stay off.

Volume icon appears spontaneously in mid screen. It goes away temporarily when I depress volume control quickly, but then reappears. Happens most often while using iPad as a reader but that is not an absolute. Please help me find a solution to its removal. Pressing the volume control has an effect for 2-3 minutes. Airplane use control does nothing.

Do you have a case on the iPad? Sometimes an ill-fitting case can trigger the buttons by itself. If there is any lint or dirt between the case and the iPad, it can cause the same issue. If you have headphones with a volume controller on the cable - check that that is not being pressed by accident. You can also check to see if there is any lint caught inside the headphone hole. Sometimes that can cause a little electrical short and trigger funny behavior on the iPad. If none of those solve your problem, take it to the apple store, it could just be a faulty switch.

Any bluetooth iPad keyboard will fix this problem instantly. This is a design flaw and buying a device that can control the volume will be your only option.

SOURCE: iPad shows blank black screen & won't turn off ~ how do I fix?

Try reseting the iPad by holding the home and power buttons simultaneously until the iPad completely shuts down and the Apple logo appears.

Once the Apple logo appears you can release the buttons. If this does not work, you may need to connect your iPad to your computer and do a factory restore using iTunes.

Where is the lock button on my apple ipad?

For an older iPad, it is the little button on the side of the same side of the iPsd as the volume control buttons.

For later models, it is part of the iOS.
Press the Home button (if your iPad has one) to return to the Home screen.
Press and swip down in the upper-right corner of the screen.
The control panel will appear.
Tap the button that has a circular arrow on it, with a lock icon in it to toggle the screen rotation lock Off/On.

My first generation iPad appears to be totally dead. When I plug it into charge all I see is the flashing Apple. Is there a way to get the system going again ?

The battery in it has most likely expired and may cost more than a new iPad to replace. A voltmeter across the charger or a friends iPad may be useful to test your charger works ok.

No sound on ipad

1. If you have no sound at all, even in the Music App, try rebooting the iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
2. If you lost sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the control center. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to control center . Tap on the bell icon and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock can be accessed in the same manner as described above.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

3. Try cleaning the dock connector opening of the iPad with a soft brush and just a little bit of rubbing alcohol.
4. Reset all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings.

I want to get iOS 7,but it says I need 3.8GB so do i need to delete my facebook App that has 172MB to download iOS7?

No, most likely your iTunes music or movies are taking the majority of your space. Connect your iPad to your computer. Once it is connected click on the icon that appeared that shows your ipad name. There it will show where your memory is used. Temporarily Delete the file that is using the most space. At the top of the screen you will see how to manage that information. Unclick the file. Once you do that click APPLY at the bottom of the screen and it will remove it. Then do your update. Once completed go back and reinstall the files as per instruction above. Then click APPLY.

How can I get my screen orientation on my ipad 2 to work?

Next to the volume control buttons, there is a slide switch that can be set to either unlock the screen orientation or mute the sound. These choices for this button are made in the setttings (gear icon) of the iPad. An easier way to access this function is by the control panel which is accessible by sliding one finger upward at bottom middle of your ipad screen

How do I remove volume icon from the middle of my iPad screen?

You might try this...you can set your side button on upper left corner edge of ipad to either mute volume or lock screen (stop it from rotating). Check how yours is set...Go into settings>general>Use side switch to:
see if it is set on mute. If it is switch it to Lock Rotation. Now that side switch will lock or unlock screen rotation.
See if that might stop your volume icon from popping up. Good luck!

My screen keep bleeping out and goes to black screen with Apple icon.

Sounds like a battery issue. Make sure your battery is charged. If it still does that, you can try to reset the iPAD back to factory settings if it will stay on long enough. Google for iPAD reset.
