Where is magnetic lid switch on amilo li3710

I have recently installed a new inverter for my screen but now the screen comes on for a second then goes off if I press Fn F10 it will come back on for only a second I am wondering if the magnetic lid switch has moved whilst I've had the bezel off, where should the magnet be?

SOURCE: Wireless

The right hand application button turns Wireless LAN on/off. The application buttons themselves do not require any drivers or software to work, they are pre-configured. Left button = email, middle = internet, right = WLAN hope this helps please vote thanks

What caused a black screen

I had the same problem. While rebooting the laptop the screen would be on for a few seconds after it finished rebooting then the display would go black. If you looked very carefully at the screen you could see the image was there but there was no light behind the screen to make the image visible.

I removed the black plastic display bezel cover that goes around the edge of the display screen to check out the lights and wiring. I found a small magnet that belongs inside the display bezel had fallen out of it's slot in the plastic bezel and was stuck to the inverter pcb (printed cicuit board). To fix this problem I secured the magnet into it's slot inside the display bezel with a bit of glue. After fixing the problem and putting the display bezel back together the laptop worked normally.

The magnet could possibly fall out if the laptop was closed and upside down then dropped on a hard surface. Mine did not feel very secure in the mounting slot which is why I secured it with glue.

This magnet is how the laptop knows the lid is closed. When the laptop is closed the magnet is moved closer to a magnetic switch on the inverter pcb and activates the switch. The laptop thinks it is closed and shuts off the lights behind the display screen. When the magnet fell out of it's slot and stuck to the inverter it activated the magnetic switch all the time whether the laptop was open or closed. This caused the laptop to think it was closed and shut off the lights behind the dispaly screen as soon as the reboot finished.

Screen goes black after plugging in charger.

I had problems with my laptop also. My screen would go black, backlight, I could see my screen if I shined a flashlight on the screen. If I opened the screen quickly I could get it to turn back on.
I replaced the inverter board, as mine was a cfl back light for a lcd. Inverter was weak. That helped but I still had some problems with screen not turning on. I found that I had a magnetic lid close switch. I took a magnet and ran it around the edge of the laptop until I located the switch, would turn off the screen. I rubbed circles with the magnet above the switch, med powered magnet from a magnetic screw holder bowl. So far my laptop shut off problem seems to be fixed. Working very well.
Before I ran the magnet over the switch my computer would also shut off when I pulled out the AC plug. Stopped after magnet. I think something gets magnetized and causes problems and magnet corrects problem. You might try this, couldn't hurt.

My Compaq Presario CQ61 has no screen when I turn it on, I have replaced and charged the battery, but still have no screen

I had this problem, the screen would turn on for a few seconds then shut off. I found the magnet inside the display bezel had fallen out of it's slot and was stuck to the inverter. This magnet is how the laptop knows the lid is closed. Of course, when the laptop is closed it shuts off the screen. I secured the magnet into it's slot inside the bezel around the screen with a bit of glue. The magnet attracts some kind of switch on the inverter board when the laptop is closed and when it fell out of it's slot and stuck to the inverter it made the switch all the time whether the laptop was open or closed. The laptop works normally now. 74aa5d08-ab1b-415f-b65b-e5730298479e.jpg d9a5bae7-b43c-4797-8790-a1d667831be9.jpg 0bff3520-95d0-4d35-9d8a-c5e3e0d627fd.jpg

Verex stepnote, laptop is on, can see the screen in the background" -

So there are many problems which will cause issues of the screen.

1. Software
- Try Fn + F5 or something like that

2. Electrical
- Remove battery, unplug power, hold power button for 60 seconds, turn on computer with power plug only, then shutdown, add battery and restart

3. Magnetic On/Off Switch to detect of Close/Open Lid
- Your magnet switch is fubar some how. Open up the speaker cover and see if your lid actuator switch that come in contact with the magnet on your lid cover is stuck or not (find where the magnet is in the back of the front lid cover, trace where the magnet area actually touches the base of the computer and you will find the switch)
- Workaround, start windows with lid at 30 degree angle

4. Hardware
- You need to replace either Inverter, Blacklight, or everything.

Screen seems dead, but comes alive once in a while

Sounds like it is a problem with the backlight. Or the switch controlling the backlight.
