Ge 25841ge3-b cordless phone

Handset 2 beeps and show unavailable. It is fully charged. Handset 1 works fine. Please help.

    Thanks so much. Didn't have a clue it would be so easy. However, we received the phones when we connected to ComCast and didn't receive a owners manual. That probably would have helped. Thanks again.

Hi,

You need to put the phone on the master handset and registered it. It whould start working. Take the handset and put it into the base unit (not the chraging unit only, the base that has the keys on it) for at least 20 seconds. The user guide says it will "register" during that time.

If it does not work then there is some battery problem with your phone please service it asap.

I am having problem with my cordless phone.
Another tip is to remove the battery from the handset for at least 5 seconds. You might want to get a voltage meter and check the voltage on that new battery - maybe it isn't charging properly.

Phone Not Working
I have had the same problem before and now again for the last week...I finally remembered what I did last time to solve it!

I put my "unavailable" Handset into the main cradle and left it there for a slow count of 20. That has reset the unavailable handset and returned the dial tone etc.

Maddening isnt' it!

You have to register the hand set in the main base. Place each handset in the base for 15 seconds minimum. It will change form unavailable to Ready when it grabs the signal from the base. If the power goes out, you will have to re-register each hand set in the base before you use them again.

Brand new cordless handset -- no dial tone, no ring!
I doubt it's the battery. As I understand it the base works fine and the problem is only with a cordless phone. Are you using an external charger stand for the cordless handset? These phones need to be registered to the base unit. That is usually done by installing the cordless phone in the base unit but you may need to do that shortly after insalling the battery or you could have a register button or setting.
