You have two questions thrown. And I will try to answer one after the other. You said you have wireless card. If you have no WIFI in your location, your wireless card could not be used so you need a router from the Broadband connection which your satellite computer will have a wire connection from the router. If you have WIFI booster connected from the router, your wireless card will be used without wire connection direct from the router.

How to load Integrated Wireless LAN on my toshiba satellite a45-s1202

If your Toshiba Satellite notebook computer is equipped with a wireless Internet card, you can connect to a Wi-Fi access point by turning on the wireless switch on the side of the laptop. However, the signal may not always be picked up by your wireless receiver; if that is the case, you will need to check your wireless-network settings and reconfigure the network connections manually.

Open the Network Settings program. Click on the Control Panel in your "Programs" bar and select "Network Settings." This will give you options for modifying how you connect to the Internet. Select "Connect to a Network" or "Show Network Status and Tasks." Both selections will show you whether you are disconnected from the wireless network. Select "Manage Network Connections." This selection is located on the left side of the window; clicking on it will show you whether you are connected to a local area connection or wireless network connection. Engage the wireless connection. Turn your wireless switch to "On," then right-click on the wireless network connection. Select "Connect/Disconnect." Wait for the IP address acquisition. It may take a few minutes for your Toshiba Satellite to pick up the signal and transmit your IP address. When this is complete, you will see the word "Connected" next to the name of your wireless connection, and a series of bars that indicate signal strength. Launch your favorite browser to access the Internet using the wireless connection.

Toshiba Satellite C655-S5125 -

The Toshiba Satellite has a helpful program -- the Toshiba Wireless Manager -- to eliminate some of that frustration. Connecting to a wireless network using the built-in wireless usb wifi adapter on a Toshiba Satellite may require making some initial changes to the Satellite's settings. These changes can be made using the Toshiba Wireless Manager. As with all wireless networking, the settings of the laptop must match the settings of the network.

My Atheros AR5007 will only complete a "Local Connection, No Internet Connection" to a NetGear N600 Dual Band Router when Security Options (WPA2-PSK (AES)...ect) are selected on the Wireless...

Since the connection works without the encryption settings, it is NOT a driver issue. It sounds like a missing wireless network security setup problem. So assuming Windows (Mac OSX is similiar):

  1. Connect a laptop/PC to the NetGear via ethernet. It saves on some aggravations later.
  2. Connect to the NetGear and restore the security settings, and remember your keyword.
  3. On your computer, open the list of Wireless Networks (usually Start->Control Panel->Network(ing)->Wireless Networks). The menu sequence might differ slightly, depending on which Windows you're running.
  4. Find and click on "Manage Wireless Networks" (or words to that effect)
  5. Right click on your wireless network's name to get the drop down menu, and select "Properties"
  6. Find a button or tab related to "Security"
  7. Under Security Type, select WPA2-PSK (or Personal)
  8. Under Encryption Type, select "AES"
  9. Under Password (or Security Key), type in your router's WiFi security key word. You may have to log back into the NetGear and find the keyword (yours) or the alternate (gibberish) form.
  10. Save the settings
  11. If you're connected to that wireless network, then disconnect
  12. Try connecting to the wireless network again. It should work this time.

Toshiba NB 205 connects to router but not internet

The wireless configuration is set differently on routers, eg the SSID, and encryption. You need to configure the wireless LAN card in the laptop to connect/communicate with the different routers.
Some wireless LAN card allow you to setup different profiles/settings for different wireless routers. Eg one setting for the office and one for home, which allows easy connection to the Internet by selecting the appropriate profile/setting.

Wireless networks not found

Sometimes Satellites get a little flaky when on battery power. If you haven't already, plug in the power cord with the notebook cold - meaning off for about a minute. Boot the notebook and try to do the setup with the power connected. If that solves it, it should work fine when you switch to battery power. If it doesn't, repost with your results.

Wireless Card not working

Possibility one: defective wireless card. Possibility two: improperly installed card driver.
Possibility three: wrong card driver
Possibility four: device conflict with card
For possibility four, does the card stop working when you use another device on your machine? Try disconnecting all other connected devices outside of the laptop (printers, scanners, webcams, MP3 players, etc) and see if the issue goes away. Keep us posted.

Need ESSID and WEP info for a Toshiba Satellite A205

The users guide for your laptop won't have information about ESSID or WEP for any wireless networks you are trying to connect to. SSID is Site Security Identification. That is the name of the wireless network you are connecting to and WEP is Wired Equivalent Privacy and is a key that is set up on the wireless network that if you don't know that key you can't use that wireless network even if you know the SSID. Each wireless network will have its own ESSID and WEP settings. If you control (I.E. you have the username and password for that router) the wireless router that you are settings up you control what the ESSID and WEP settings are. If you purchased the wireless router that you are trying to connect to, you might need a users guide for that router or if the company you get your Internet from owns your wireless router, you need to contact them concerning the setup of that wireless router.

Hope that helps.
