Sharp r316 lcd dim - Sharp R-326FS 1100 Watts Microwave Oven

Hi,
Dimmed light might be caused by a slight contact between the panel's connector and the mainboard. Or, there is a dimmer option (feature) in the menu. Depends on model. Some of Panasonic microwave ovens are equipped with such a feature.

Looking at other answers below your question on the page that i am viewing anyways. It appears that Sharp convection microwaves or Sharp microwaves in general seem to have an ongoing problem of that sort. The solution is to replace the main circuit board.

Unplug the unit and do not plug it back, I can almost picture someone doing this, watching the sparks and smoke and oh the lights dim--Be smart here===either replace it out of hand or take to a repair shop to see if worth fixing or not and do not attempt to turn it on again.

Replace the capacitors on the PCB that powers the LCD. Go to Digikey.com to buy replacements. Their parts are inexpensive and they ship fast!

Get a capacitor that has a higher or equal voltage (not lower!) and the same uF (microfarad). Also look for a cap that has a temp tolerance of 10,000 hrs at 105 degrees.
