Avertec touchpad not enabled - Averatec C3500 Tablet PC

there are different version and releases of android for hp touchpad. each one has slight different installation process .

1, First, open the Settings option and select Device Information.

2, Choose the More information button and then select Software on the top of the next screen.

3, Scroll down and select Photos and Videos. A pop-up window appears and select Done.

if restarting the PC doesn't make it work again see if HP have some drivers for it. If it's completely dead despite driver install and restart you may need a new touchpad. They rarely brake but it's not unknown. Installing a second hand or new touchpad (try ebay) requires a careful hand so get someone good with electronics to do it if you don't fancy it yourself.

Your new install of Windows will be using generic drivers. You need to update to the specific touchpad drivers. Download them from Trigem (Averatec is a brand name owned by trigem) http://www.trigem.com/us/support/drivers.asp

Follow these methods to Disable Touchpad ( Fn+F9 )

Toshiba usually set the keys Fn+F9 as the touchpad enable/disable - the touchpad software has to be running in the taskbar to allow this however.
