Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have a Mitsubishi WD-65736 DLP. Had a bad lightning storm, and tv just turned off. Will not turn back on. When you press reset, I can hear relays clicking, but no LED's light, no tv operation. Took the power supply out to check fuse, fuse good. My question is how do I know if the power supply is the culprit? I hear relays clicking when plugging in, and when the reset button is pressed. I did not see any leaking capacitors, or see or smell anything burnt. PLEASE HELP!!

Look for F850,F851 black soldered in micro fuses near board edge...usually, convergence circuit is the issue......
Be sure to solder wire jumpers 008,010,017,048,600....any bad
connect can cause fuse to blow again.........T.

Good Day;

Two things normally happens after a L storm:1.) One must unplug TV for 5 minutes, then plug back in. 2.) Main glass fuse out, will be near a/c cord. 3.( Power regulator IC may be out. Try these first.

Good Luck!

Mitsubishi wd-73738 turns itself back on

Hi,

It sound like the remote is powering off the cable box but not the TV. The remote control may need to be reprogrammed to the TV. When you press power it may only power off the Cable box. At that point, try pressing the TV button on your remote and then Power. If it does not power off the tV after pressing the tV button, the remote may need to be reprogrammed to the tv. Cable companies usually have the codes needed to program their remotes to the TVs.

I just replaced my bulb on my mitsubishi wd-65736 but picture is still dark looking and the bulb stays lit up after we cut the TV off. Could I have hooked the two wires up wrong?

This site lists your service manual for $7.99
https://www.completeservicemanuals.com/mitsubishi/dlp-projection-television/wd-65736-service-manual/prod_1408.html

This site claims to have a free PDF download, but the "free download" link throws you to www.tradebit.com, which sells the service manual (as a downloadable PDF file) for $7.99
http://www.promanuals.com/serviceparts/mitsubishi-wd-60735-wd-65735-wd-73735-wd-65835-wd-73835-wd-60c8-wd-65c8-wd-73c8-wd-65736-wd-73736-service-manual/

This site sells your TV service manual for $5 as a .PDF sent to your email:
http://tv-part.com/index.php?target=products&product_id=1369

If you can read/use a service manual, $5+tax is a lot better than $hundreds for a new television. Or- buy the downloadable manual, and give it to your favorite electronics friend to peruse. The darkness coming from the new lamp might bespeak of a power supply problem, or a poor connection between the lamp and the power supply. The fact that the lamp module stays on after it should go out also says power supply problem.
In the worst case, keep both your lamp modules (they're probably both good), and sell them online to help defray the cost of a new television.

Mitsubishi wd-65731 ,won't be able to keep it turn on

Call Mitsubishi at 1800-332-2119. Explain the symptom and they should be able to direct you to a service facility that will replace a Temperature Sensor at no charge to you. It is a known failure. Good Luck. Don't wait to call.
