6 blinks is usually associated with failure of the horizontal
deflection amplifier - which shuts down the high voltage system as well.
The repair requires testing to determine the exact parts that have
failed. There are, for example, a few hundred parts and a section of
the Jungle IC chip involved. So, repairs could require something as
simple as replacing some inexpensive passive components OR as
complicated as replacing the jungle chip (very expensive).
most of the time it's the horz. transformer and transistor.

in this set 3 blinks means lamp cover not set properly but i think that your problem is your 6x red blinks that means you have a problem in the audio section in your set(missing a voltage) or a themal fuse open.

When a Sony TV flashes five times, that means that there is an AKB circuit fault.
Six blinks is also a fault related to video problems, and regards a fault concerning the digital board and the Jungle IC (the main CPU).
This means that there is something wrong with the video.
Try first unplugging power for few hours, if that does not work, call a
technician, as several IC and components must be tested and eventually
replaced.

When you are in front of tv grasp the right side of the front grill and pull it off, the lamp door is right behind it. Unscrew the cover and remove it, you will need the allen wrench provided with the new lamp to remove the old lamp just unscrew it and pull it out.
