I just replaced the DLP chip, now I have a blinking yellow status light. What's the problem?
Blinking yellow indicates no lamp or the lamp door is open. if you had the back off you may have gotten the door switch aligned improperly. the door switch is located just inside the lamp door.
the lamp may also be bad.

I'm sure it's nothing you did wrong. I maybe a blown fuse inside causing the problem or a bad power supply. But, I wouldn't open up the TV. It may void the warranty by playing around inside.
Best to take it back and exchange it for another one. Tv repairs now and days cost an arm and a leg. Use warranty to full advantage.

Hi, When this happens, it means that the power supply has shut down for safety reasons, to avoid, a fire, an explosion, or both. You MUST get your set attended to by a professional. You need to contact Mitsubishi, and ask for a "Quote" for repair.
I have included a link to a generic "Training and service manual" just so you can see how complicated and the special equipment required to service.
