I would make sure my video drivers adapters are up to date. Use windows update to automatically set the proper driver to the display and to your video adapter.
seems simple enough, go into your computer power settings through control panel and turn off standby mode as well as hibernation. set it to be on all the time. if you're using the syncmaster i assume you're talking about a desktop computer and not a laptop, if that's the case and the syncmaster is lcd, then you don't really 'need' a screensaver but if you want it to hide your desktop while you're not there you can add a screensaver for fun :P
There are no drivers on the Samsung site that I could find.
That said, you don't need drivers for your monitor. If your monitor isn't displaying anything with your new computer, try turning your computer completely off, make sure your monitor is turned on and plugged in to the computer, then turning the computer back on. Windows should automatically detect what resolutions the monitor supports and your monitor should start working.
maurice_camp Read the post I did for other Samsung 940MW's by clicking on the name "SyncMaster" above. You too probably have a "switch-mode-power-supply" that has gone into shutdown mode because it has detected a fault with some other circuit or even itself.

Hi:
You have a problem with the power supply that is built into the monitor. These are not easily repaired, as the cost exceeds the value of the monitor.

This could be ANY problem. The power supply IN the monitor could be going bad. The video card [ u did not say what u have the monitor connected to ] Desktop, laptop (yes! connected externally).Does the power turns off or the monitor goes black??
Similar problem with Samsung Syncmaster T260 at 1920x1200 on HIS Radeon X1950XTX video card. Black horizontal stripes lasting 1/60th of a second or so every few seconds, then black screen for 2 seconds, then fine again.
I Set the catalyst control center control panel for the graphics card to Alternate DVI operational mode under the Digital panel attributes item. Setting the screen to 1600x1200 also seems to stop it doing this. BUT...it didn't used to do it. Bought it in November, and it didn't start doing this until late January. Go figure.
