A single line screen horizontally.
A single horizontal line indicates "No Vertical Sweep". It is most often caused by a loose solder joint on the vertical output device, (transistor, or packaged circuit).
They can b various solutions for this problem if u have any electronic back ground the problem is a vertical problem it could be as simple as cold joints meaning solder louse around or in vertical circuit ,vertical ic bad ,vitical section of yolk bad,or vertical section not getting volts.....if no electronic skills get help from technician
Problem with the vertical oscillator. Replace IC
This is probably a Plasma with out looking, FIRST try to press LIGHTLEY on both sides and see if it goes away, you might have a burnt flexible PVC Cable on the right or left side. If you a good with your eyes you can find a burnt spot on these cables ether on right or left, these you might not be able to find unless you remove the right or left circuit board.... follow the line on the TV Mark it and you should find the burnt line OR it might be the CONNECTOR on the PCB or glass. just barely move it, see if it goes away.
if all fails its the PANEL. sorry...
Vertical oscillator / driver faulty. Hit suspected chips with cold spray, if problem IC located - replace. (if possible)
That is caused by vertical scan failure. The tv has to checked by a technician. This is not for the user. The technician will test the vertical scan yoke winding to see if it's open. If the winding is Ok he should check the coupling capacitor(C411) on the board, it may be swollen and open. If these are ok then the vertical deflection integrated circuit has failed and should be replaced. The ic is designated as IC451 on the board and the part number is LA78045. Hope this helps...
