SOURCE: sharp digital microwave oven is not heating

I would most suspect a shorted high voltage rectifier diode, a bad connection on the FA terminal of the magnetron, or a bad magnetron.

Here are some links you or someone you know can use (in order given) for test help, but read the safety warnings first:

You can usually find exploded views and order parts by entering your model number here at the Sears parts site.

The best place to order Sharp parts is Tritronics.

SOURCE: Sanyo Microwave EM-G4775 - doesn't heat up......

It's probably a loose connection at the magnetron or a bad magnetron.

If it's less than one year old, it should be fully covered under warranty. I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer to get it fixed free.

If it's within the magnetron portion of the warranty (usually 5-9 years) but out of the original full warranty (usually 1 year), then your manufacturer will cover the part cost, but not the cost to visit you or the labor charge to do the work.

Some manufacturers (in the US anyway) will send you the magnetron to do it yourself. If nothing else, you can save about $75US by taking it to the shop yourself.

Apparently you're in the UK, judging by the model number.

You can find Sanyo UK microwave owner's manuals here.

SOURCE: microwave has works but doesn't heat

Sounds like the Magnetron has stopped working. The Magnetron is is a specially designed powerful magnet that generates the high frequency microwave energy used to heat food.

SOURCE: Have a 22" microwave oven

There are a few things that will cause this problem, the high voltage diode, or the high voltage capacitor, and the magnetron are usually the culprits. I find that one or more of these parts will go making the cost to repair at least $100.00 and up.

Sharp R-1460A Timer counts down very rapidily and no heat

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for maybe an hour.

The clock works & counts down but the microwave won't heat

  • Disconnect the power for 30 seconds. After restoring power, do not set the clock.
  • If your model has an ON/OFF clock display, you can choose not to have the time displayed. To choose this option, press the 0 pad for about three seconds. To Turn the display back on, press the 0 again.

Touch the clock pad. Enter in the correct time of day by touching the numbers in sequence. Touch the clock pad again.
