The player's firmware has crashed.

did you format it under windows explorer? O_o, yup you probably did ^^

anyway, just pullout that driver cd that came with the player, install the recovery software from there, run it and it will get fixed

Initializing wong go further

I think the problem is the operating system on your system, i think it is corrupt, i will advice you reinstall the operating system on your system, if you are unable to reinstall the operating system, it means the hard drive is bad, you will need to replace the hard drive.

Take care.

Printer runs the self test and then initializing and then stops at "initializing, please wait" and goes no further. has new firmware and good memory???

I have had this problem several times and it was always caused by bad inkcartridges. Try starting up the printer without all cartridges. When printer tells you to place the cartridges put them in and see if you get an error. The cartridge witch causes the error is the "bad guy".

XEROX Phaser 8560MFP won't go past "initializing?"

Disconnect the data cable between the Electronics Module and the Printhead to see if Power On Self Test (POST) gets further, to the point where it displays a system failure code relating to the Printhead being disconnected. If so, replace defective printhead.

Sounds like your main board has gone out on this unit. We can sell you a replacment board for $45 if interested. Its not too terribly hard to install.
