Samsung LCD tv and PS3

I have a Samsung LCD Tv and a Playstation 3. My tv will play everything except Blue Ray movies. It will play all my games, regular movies, just not Blue Ray. I even bought a better HDMI cord and it still doesnt work. Whats wrong?

I have the exact same issue with my Samsung LCD; it displays games and everything except blu-ray. I think its a firmware issue with the TV. I'm not sure. All I know is that the PS3 will play blu-ray movies on my other LCDs fine.

I have a HLN617 Samsung 61" TV that flashes "No SIGNAL" when I plug the
blue, green, red, and audio wires into the proper places. It's a High Definition
DLP set but will not play Blue Ray Discs. Thanks, Jim Meraglia

The problem is with the frames per second that the ps3 is putting out. i wound up calling both samsung and sony and the problem was in the settings. the ps3 allows you the option of playing in 24hz and for some reason if the option isn't turned off our tvs won't display frames at that rate. just go to the dvd settings and deselect the 24hz option, changing it from AUTO to OFF... the only problem i have with this is that this should effect the picture quality, becasue if it isn't displaying in 24hz that means it is downscaling the display and if it isn't upscaled by the tv's processor, then the display should be worse. i might be imagining it, but it does seem worse.. atleast they play now though. hope i helped.

Had the same problem and this solution worked great. Not sure if anyone is still monitoring this board, but I could get the blu-ray movies to play fine if I used component cables (that I used for my PS2) instead of HDMI WITHOUT changing the FPS setting. I couldn't really tell a difference in quality; they both looked great. I was just wondering if anyone else had tried the component cables and could tell a difference either way. Was just wondering if it's worth taking back the HDMI cable and settling for component instead (about a $40 difference).

I have/had the same problem and this fixed the issue. I have a work order with Samsung and the tech guy is coming next week. I'm not sure if by turning off the 24hz option that I am giving up picture quality so I would like to see if there is a soultion on the tv side rather than the PS3 side.

I am using the HDMI cable and have not tested with component cables.

Blue rays not playing and screen says no signal

This is blue ray lens failure. this optical Assembly has two separate reading lenses. there is one designated for Cd audio and CD_ROM reading and, the other is blue ray compatible. the blue ray lens in inoperable at this point. you will need to replace this lens assembly.

Games on Full HD

if you have a full hdtv then providing you set the playstation up in the settings menu to 1080p and use a hdmi cable then everything you play will be in hd (except ps1 and 2 games) but you can select to upscale these. all blu rays and ps3 games will be in full hd.

Ps3 not playing blu ray on my samsung LCD

Change the frame rate on your tv to 60hd, that should solve it. Basically, your tv might be set to theater mode which is playing 24hd..

Games run on hdmi, but not Blu-ray movies

You most likely have the updated drivers. You may have to go and change a setting. I found an answer on the PS3 website that may be of some use to you. I hope this helps you: http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=ps3&message.id=1662191 From the site: "go to bd/dvd setting and set the "108024hz" option off"
