How to delete photos from the photo albums in ipod touch?

To delete synced photos and videos

You can specify what photo albums to sync to your ipod. With your ipod connected to your computer, open itunes and select your ipod under the devices title in the sidebar.
Then, go to the photos tab and unselect the photo album you would like to remove from your ipod. Finally, click sync to save your settings and remove the unwanted photos.

While viewing the photo, look at the bottom right-hand corner. There should be a trashcan icon. Tap it and delete.

You can't do it directly from the ipod touch. Don't know why Apple did that.

You have to delete the pictures in itunes and then connect the ipod and click on update photos.
