I just built a machine with an Asrock conroe 1333 d667 board, intel core2 duo processor, 2 1gig sticks of ddr2 667 ram, and it was working fine, had some little issues with drivers and Vista not getting along. Until today, when trying to boot it, the fan comes on, but the system doesn't appear to be coming on...no system beeps, nothing on the monitor screen.
I've switched monitors and plugged them into the onboard vid card, I've reset the cmos, I've taken the entire thing apart and reassembled it, with no luck. I'm not that savvy with building computers, so any input you guys may have will be greatly appreciated.
I bought ASRock 4CoreDual-SATA2, which did not boot because I had not taken notice of the ATX 12V connector (4 pins). When I plugged this connector the problem was solved. This might be the case of sahaib, but not of dwgatewood. Kostas

It sounds like either a motherboard or processor problem. If you have never opened a computer before it is best to take it to a repair shop and get a quote on a repair or return it to the retailer or even Asrock for a refund or replacement, assuming it's still under warranty.
If you are comfortable with opening the computer (and have done it before) I would try to reduce it to it's most basic components.
turn off the computer power at the power supply and the wall socket.
unscrew and remove the case side.
Disconnect power and data cables for CD/DVD drives and hard drives.
Remove any components occupying the expansion slots.
Leave the video card installed for now unless you have an on-board video card.
If you have multiple RAM sticks installed reduce it to just one.
Now close up the machine and try to reboot. If you still have the same problem you know for sure it's one of the remaining components, if not you know it's one of the components you removed so start adding them back one by one to figure out which one.
If it is one of the core components try swapping them out for another compatible spare if you have one. I'm guessing it is probably the motherboard itself if there are no error beeps or anything. I hope this is of some help to you.
Actually, one thing. Intel motherboards, like your Wolfdale is an Intel board, they don't work with AMD graphics cards. I've seen this arise many times, the graphics card is AMD and your MOBO/CPU is Intel... that's a red flag in my book automatically. Take it back and try an Intel Graphics card.
