What is wrong?

I have an lg optimus exceed my touch screen just randomly stopped responding , i ca use my lock button and the volume key on the sides, i can get calls and texts i just cant answer respond or do anything at that matter considering the touch screen is not responding, i have powered it off and on nothing works

I had the same issue and was pissed, not to mention i didn't have a warranty and it was only a couple months old. I actually bought another phone and because I had nothing to lose, took my phone apart and replaced the touchscreen myself for about $30. If you have ever changed out a PC part, you could replace this screen. It's not really that difficult and there are guides out there. The screen itself is just a thin piece of plastic that lays over the lcd screen and is kinda "glued" into the frame of the phone. If you look at ur phone and follow the frame around, that's the piece ur replacing - but you have to disconnect all the wires from the inside. Now mines works like a charm -- and I'm stuck with two phones :~( PS: STOP USING THE STYLUS!

If you have a screen protector on, the proximity sensor is covered by the screen protector. The sensor is locate on top left of the screen next to the inner camera. Cut of the piece of screen protector and it should solve the problem.

1.From the Home screen, touch the Menu Key .
2.Touch Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset.
Read the warning and touch Reset phone

If your phone does not restore to the original condition, use a Hard Reset (Factory Reset) to initialize it.
When the phone is turned off, press and hold the
power/lock key and down volume,after 5 seconds, keep pressing the previous keys and touch and hold the Menu Key + Back Key (must be done before the touch key LED lights turn on). turn off your phone then turn it back on wile pressing the up volume key and power key dont let go of the volume up button then a settings menu will come out choose reset factory default use up and down key to navigate and power button to choose action then your phone will reboot and be back to as new you will loose all your files though on your phone except the ones on your memory card have a nice day

I have problems with my quick touch buttons. The volume will adjust itself randomly, locking the mouse etc.. Also the wifi button will stop responding sometimes and randomly start working again.

Try this,


1. Click combination of buttons on your keyboard Windows+R -> Type MSCONFIG -> OK -> Continue -> Go to Startup Tab in the System Configuration -> Uncheck "HP Quicktouch On Screen Display Item" -> Restart Your computer.

It disables the on screen display of the volume control.

you can enter your code in the following way. LG Android Phones
Start your LG Optimus GT540 Android Phone
Click the icon to open the phone dialer
Enter 2945#*540# and press send
Enter the provided unlock code (which you have purchased)
Click 'Unlock' , then it's done.
