C45072 Kenmore washer will not start. Did one

C45072 Kenmore washer will not start. Did one load of wash this morning,fixed the dryer and put it back on top of the washer. Next think I know the washer doesn't work. Only beeps when you push start. Tried jumpering the door switch, pressure switch, dispenser door switch - nothing. Only beeps when you press start. The diagnostic test doesn't even work to try and get an error code. Help. I'm beginning to hate Kenmore

    I just had the Sears tech come today and he said I needed a new control board!!!



    I'll be writing a nasty letter to Sears to get my $113 back.

I've been going crazy with this too. Turns out all you have to do is hold down the "options" & "select" buttons at the same time until the "lock light" (the light just above the "pause/cancel" button) turns off. I guess that's why there is a line under the option/select buttons that have a lock symbol connecting the two.

Underneath the top unit (the dryer) there should be a spring loaded catch that holds the door open. See if it is gummed up and stuck or possibly broken off.
