Remove the fan and motor assembly from the hood (the fan motor will plug into the hood housing) and using an electrical motor cleaner (such as CRC electrical motor cleaner available from your local auto parts store) wash the motor and fan as completely as possible, lubricate the end bearings (sparingly) with a very light oil such as sewing machine oil, gun oil or as a last resort 3 in 1 oil. How do I clean the filters from your kitchenaid stove hood

To clean the filters on the Kitchenaid KICU265HSS. If this is not your unit can you please give the right make and model #.

The filters should be washed frequently. Place metal filters in dishwasher or hot detergent solution to clean.

Hood lights constantly zapping out.

I have a similar unit - KitchenAid wall mounted stainless steel stove hood (model KWCU285HSS). Please let me know if you figure out how to open the thing/canopy up. I'm trying to get into the area above the florescent light & starter.
