you do not need a repair manual to do it , its fairly easy job, you can usually google it or you tube repair my fridge thermostat and it will show u how

* Fridge that runs all the time are cause by many situations. Here are some of the common ones.
* Leaving the doors open frequently and/or long periods. (yeah, lost my voice on the kids.)
* Leaking door seals. May need cleaning (use a disinfectant spray to control mold.). Have vendor replace seals. (they don't really last past 5 years. Most MFR's will have this service available as it's a common repair.
* Leaking frame and/or door. The box is insulated with a vapor seal. If it's broken then moisture gets in and causes heat to get into the box which makes it harder to keep things cold. Too costly to fix. Replace fridge.
* Thermostat is set to low (cold). Normally set to middle (4-6 on dial) But watch out as the kids may set your Fridge to lowest setting to get the milk, soda, and juice to 'slushy' state. (I covered the knob with tape)
* Thermostat is stuck. Call for service to replace.
* Final, call for service, especially if your unit is more than 3 years old. Check your warranty as it may have been included (the service check). Don't mess with it if it' still under warranty as any work may void it.

* Thermostat is stuck. Try turning it all the way down, up, then set to middle. If it does not go off and back on during the turning of the dial then it's probably stuck. Call for service to replace.
* Final, call for service, especially if your unit is more than 3 years old. Check your warranty as it may have been included (the service check). Don't mess with it if it' still under warranty as any work may void it.

Since you did not inclde a model number this is a generic response. What your describing is caused by the unit not automatically defrosting.
The parts of the automatic defrost system are:
1. The defrost control / This can be a mechanical clock timer or electronic adaptive defrost control
2. The defrost heater
3. The defrost thermostat or thermistor (depending upon model number)

One of the three has failed. I doubt #3 (thermostat or thermistor) is the problem as it would usually cause the unit to stay in the defrost mode and everything would thaw out.

You must choose servicer and then enter your model number to get the parts manual.

If nothing else... download your parts manual and look up the parts that are replaced on your unit to see if you got a fair shake on your repair. Just net search the part numbers.....

1. get your mfr/model number from your kitchen range
2. logon to the mfr web site (Google it)
3. download & print it - or order it online, if the mfr supports hardcopy sales online.

1) Google the Mfr & model number.

2) check the manufacturer's web site - often they'll have PDF files of the appliance manual.

3) check the myriad of web sites that offer downloadable manuals.
User manuals are commonly available, but service/repair manuals are the holy grail.

There is no sensor that knows you replaced it. Probably have to hold down a button or two to reset light on dispenser area; read your manual for directions or find it on-line from the mfr website if you don't have it. I do not know what key sequence.
