Try removing the battery and CMOS battery if accessible, press and hold the power button with unit unplugged for 30 seconds.
Reconnect the CMOS battery and power on the unit.
If you are getting a charge light when hooked up to A/C, it is not the A/C adaptor. If the unit tries to start up shuts down as soon as it powers up, it may be your processor.
Hi, I have acer aspire gemstone 7520 17" and it does not power on the green light flashes adn can not even switch off with out taking the battery out.

This could be due to the fault in the ac adapter,please try swapping another adapter if it works then you need to replace your adapter.

Also check the battery voltage, is lower than marked then replace if the charging does not improve.
Finally if both the battery and adaptor is working fine then the hardwre of the laptop is faulty , possible the main board or power supply within. Take help from Acer support for estimate.
