Recently I had to reload the XP sound drivers on a 733TU laptop. I have tackled this a couple of years back but had forgotten the problematic task. Many drivers appear to work but with microphone issues. There is a Lenovo Conexant smart audio 221 driver that does do the job correctly after modifying the .inf file contained within the driver. The driver is labelled 6ea114ww.exe from here http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/6ea114ww.exe Using an extraction tool like winrar the 6ea114ww.exe file can be unpacked and the file TPUNHER5.inf can be updated using notepad to include your device id string from device manager.
