Does the machine work when you remove the battery? If it does then try this. Let the machine boot to Windows then flip it over and insert the battery with the set still running. Flip it back upright and see if the battery icon register the battery, if it does you are back in business. Bear in mind only fixes it if the machine can still function without the battery. Reason is the battery has gone "zero" and goes into deep sleep. This action "wakes" the battery up. This way I have saved a few friends from sending their machines in for expensive "repairs".
If you have already tried resetting the system by removing the battery and holding the "power -on" button for 30 seconds and then reinstalling the battery, then there is a very good possibility that the system board (aka the motherboard) has developed a major failure. I am an "A+ Industry Certified PC Repair Technician" and I have worked on four of these models previously. Unfortunately, all four of them had motherboard failures when the PC was about 4-5 years old. The cost of replacing the motherboard is not efficient.
Your computer is in sleep mode to wake it up follow this general rule:
1-Take out battery after you unplug charger.
2- Put back battery, restart on battery power.

On a Windows 7 system, right-click on a blank area of the sceen, click on Personalise at bottom of menu and select whatever theme or picture you want as the background. It is slightly different for other windows system, but you should start with right-clicking on a blank part of the screen..

SOURCE: Samsung N145 Plus battery charge failure
If the laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

Computer does not boot up The problem maybe the RAM, it could be faulty or just needs reseating to make proper electrical contact.
Reseat the RAM and then boot up your laptop. If it still does not boot up then remove the RAM module/s and take them to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test the RAM for you. Just like you sometimes need a mechanic to repair your car, sometimes you do need a technician to diagnose and identify the fault or faults on your computer. Not only does a good service technican have the experience to deal with this type of problem, they also have the equipment that allows them to look at things the average computer user can't see, and he has a collection of replacement parts that can be used to quickly test individual components on your computer.
