The quality of the color diminishes = greens aren't green, etc.
or one color may dominate = pix is mostly green.
or one or more colors are weak = pix is purple = no green.

As you see, it would be best for you to tell me what you observe
the tv doing or not doing......T.

Pix flickels and gets small then normal and click off and on. this happens not all the time.

Bad caps in the power supply section (look for bulged and/or leaking capacitors) or dirty contacts on the main power relay (if it is an older CRT type) are the most common causes of those symptoms.

Vertical Lines on my Mitsubishi WS-65819

This sounds like a bad connection or a bad capacitor in the 220 volt source that supplies the voltage for the CRT boards. You will need to get a schematic and trace out this voltage from the PM board to the CRT driver boards when the set acts up. it could even be a connection on one of the plugs from the PM board to the CRT boards. Sorry but not a real easy repair. Might take some time to trace unless a component is failing. Good Luck

The picture on our tevion television just disappeared. We have sound, but no picture at all. this happened very suddenly in the middle of a news broadcast.

If everything else works - there is sound and high voltage (static on the screen) - but there is no picture (including no on-screen menus), this limits the likely area of problems is the video output circuitry or CRT filament connections. Check to see if the CRT filaments are glowing. If they are not glowing, check for bad soldering on the CRT neck board and around the flyback transformer.

Where the picture is erratic - coming and going entirely or changing brightness suddenly, with power off, remove the picture tube socket (carefully!) and clean the pins with fine sandpaper and use contact cleaner on the socket. This source of bad connections can result in a variety of erratic symptoms. Check for bad solder connections on the CRT neck board.

try replacing the cable 1st, if that fails it is probably a bad CRT.

The screen on my Sony wide projection tv is turning blue after a few minutes. can you help? the model # is KP-57WS500

This is a typical bad CRT. The blue CRT part number is 8-733-647-25 but they are no longer available. It is not uncommon for this eventually to happen to the other CRT's as well. The only fix is to have a technician pull the defective CRT and have it sent to a company called VDC for rebuilding.

If it is not a cold solder on the CRT board at the end of the tube (inside)...... then the CRT (tube) is bad. The CRT costs more than the set new.

Veiwfinder & lcd panel

this is probobly a problem with blue CRT, either it gone bad, or a bad connection. if it happened suddenly, and not gradually, there's a good chance its only a bad connection, and the crt is fine, in this case, it shouldnt be too expansive. good luck with that.
