Yamaha rx-530 rs panel light went out twice

I had the light replaced and it went out 90 days later. I had it replaced again and within 6 months it is out again. I don't want to pay a technician to fix it again because by then I could have bought a new system. Is something else causing the light to go out?

If you are a good handyman you can do the following: (1) Go to a hardware store and buy a cheat DVM (digital voltmeter). Go to the other bulb and measure the voltage and write down on paper. Then CAREFULLY remove the bulb and place it where the other one burnt out twice. Measure the voltage the same way. If the two voltages are identical, then it was simply a coincidence, take the burnt bulb and go to the Electronic Parts Store and buy two bulbs (the reason for two is that the other one remaining will also go not before too long). If the voltage is ghigher than the previous reading, take it to the attention of the manufacturer. There is a design error by their engineers and they need to fix it. They most likely will send you a new unit and ask to return the old one, so they can evaluate it. Now when we are talking about volts, we talk about tenths of volts difference. This scheme will also work with LEDs, but the bulb with the lower voltage is the one at fault. CONSTANTIN

Requires a 14 volt bulb, not a 12 volt. I had the same issue.

My yamaha rx-v596 makes a clicking sound but does not turn on

If it clicks twice almost instantly (on then off within 1/2second) then its got a serious power supply imbalance.

If it clicks on then 5secs later clicks off then one of the amplifier channels has probably failed and the protection circuit is tripping it off to protect itself.

either way its a repair shop job I'm afraid

Front panel blocked or locked

RCA Entertainment Series 32" Plus Gold, GEMSTAR, xbox ready has been in the shop twice so far. Transformer replaced and 6 months later the picture suddenly had horizontal white lines that gradually spaced apart more from top to bottom and it had a gray hue and fuzzy, but I still watched it for 3 months that way. Today I turned it on and about a minute later I heard a loud crackling sound coming from the back and the picture disappeared, screen went black. Is it worth fixing again? Blue light special

I feel for you. HP makes a crummy product. That is why I never sell them anymore. Plus, as I do some warranty work for them, I get to see the problems up close. Their tech support usually sucks as well.

Overlay Panel bubbles up!

I had the same oven panel overlay bubbling problem on my GE oven purchased in 2008. It started peeling and bubbling within the 1 yr warranty, and GE sent me a replacement panel. This new part began bubbling again within 4 months. Again, I called but now they say it's out of warranty and they will not replace it. Obviously there's a manufacturing defect in this part. The panel looks terrible. It appears that GE no longer cares about the quality of their products.

Display is permanently "off" on the Yamaha RX-V620

Sounds like the LED that lights up the display has burnt out. An easy fix, if you're not afraid to take the front panel apart and resolder a new one.
