Radio 2009 V50 radio turns on by itself cant turn it off or change the volume or radio channel, heaters work but screen is frozen just showing what radio station its on

You could have a stuck button that is blocking the rest of the buttons from functioning. Check the hand controls on the steering and if all is ok, try get the radio out and unplug it. If this now gives you heater display and functionality the problem is on the radio itself.

Before you delve too deep, disconnect the battery for a few minutes. Sometimes they just get "confused" and need a reboot! Its worth a try!

SOURCE: 2008 XC90 No volume on radio. Display shows channels, but volume display is missing.

It sounds like you have a defective radio.

that means radio is bed. if sound holds and stations hold and sound good.

On my 2004 X Type Jag only the volume switch works on the radio unit its self cant change stations play cd of use the steering wheel controls as i said all i can do is turn the volume up or down? any ideas...

Did you find the problem with your radio Terry? I have a 2005 X type and the radio has just suddenly started doing exactly the same thing - cant change radio station or use steering controls, only the volume knob works.

check all of your fuses, the radio has 2 power feeds, one for the operation and one for the memory, if the memory feed is out the radio will work partially like you explained

I own a 1992 GMC Sierra Pickup still with the factory am/fm radio receiver and the seperate cassette player with graphic equalizer. A few years back it started to fail when turning on and now does work at...

I would say the problem is inside the radio itself. I have no idea if anyone repairs these units anymore or if any good used ones are available.
