HOW TO INSTALL AND RUN A LITEON DVD ROM DRIVE?

Is This recently installed drive? It could be missing drivers. click on start then right-click computer, and click properties, then on device manager a new window should pop up with a list of devices under cd/dvd rom drives check to see if your device is listed.

This error comes because of cd/dvd registry changes. For that you need to delete some keys with below method.then this error will be fixed. Press windows key +R key so you can see run then type in run "devmgmt.msc" then press ok so you can see device manager uninstall all usb drivers then it automatic install usb drivers. then check. Also you need to change registry for that type in run "regedit" then press ok then you can see registry editor then locate below key. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11­CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} And remove upper filter and lower filter.Then restart computer then check. on pata ,flate data cable use in long connerter . on sata cable we use thin and flatcable join in n small squire port. some bord have both type port we can use diffrent port in same time . but port should be good. i think there no chance to join different connecter joining. we look seriously. in any coonater we saw cuttin g shape or male female shape. power cable of smps which join in hdd/cd room may be lose when we join any part it can be short so connecting any cable before we do switch off or pullout powercable.

I am guesing a desktop computer is what you are talking about. If this is the case buy another cd/dvd rom drive aprox 30 bucks pay attencion to the red striped ribbon cable and how the jumpers are on your old drive and match on your new drive thats it when you boot window it will pickup on new unit

Right click on 'My computer' and select manage and there you will find the option that is "Disk management".You can change the drive letter there..

The liteon 167t is indeed a DVDROM so it will indeed read the game DVD

Open The cabinet of the CPU and check the IDE Channel
BUS- cable if that is plugged properly.Also check if the Power plug is properly inserted to your DVD Rom,

If both are checked properly, get the lense of the DVD checked in service center. maximum of the CD/DVD problem arises due to damage in the lense. Anyways, The cost of the lense comes to be almost equal to the DVD ROM price  :)

Is the Master/Slave jumper set correctly on the back of the drive?

If the drive is on a cable with another drive of any type, one must be master and the other slave.

Also, double check that the ribbon cable is plugged in correctly.

If you had a legal key to begin with they will issue a new one

Go to my computer, right click>properties>hardware tab>device manager, then look down the list for DVD/CDROM Drives, click it and your DVD drive will appear. Right click on it and delete. Restart PC and windows will find your DVD drive again and install it. Try a dvd again and see if it is working, if not it's time to buy a new one i'm afraid, but they are very cheap to replace.
