The timer is also an electrical power switch and it can not be fixed. In any case and for safety reasons also you need to replace it.
It can be easily removed by removing the bottom panel and remember to make some notes on where each wire is connected so you will put them back in the same order with the new timer switch.

Unfortunatly this a very popular problem with the timers and the only solution is to replace the timer knob complete.
Their are in ebay and amzon com, very good price and they wll arive to you in a couple of days.
