Hello, Fixya, Last night, I logged into FaceBook, using my Yahoo account. Tonight, when I tried to log in, I got a message that my password was invalid. FB said they'd send a new password to my Yahoo account. When I tried to log onto Yahoo, my password was invalid - the same password I used for FB. I went through all the security checks on Yahoo to get a new password and was then told I had to contact customer service directly. Has my account been messed with in the past 24 hours? If so, please advise. I haven't had an account hacked before. If not, can you tell me what to do to get a new password? Thank you, Sharon Gannaway [email protected]
I work on computers and have had many clients with yahoo email that has been hacked. Contact Yahoo customer service directly to restore access to your yahoo account (with a new password of course...)

Under the login boxes, there is a link for "Forgot User ID or Password?". You can click on that link and follow the instructions to retrieve this information.

I have experienced this same pop-up. I have been a Yahoo mail client for the past 14 years and I can tell you with a certain level of confidence that this is something you don't need to worry a about. It's a conflict between the yahoo mail server and the yahoo messenger server.

Yahoo allows you to reset your username and password using an alternate email address.
Simply go to the yahoo! sign on page and click the link as shown here:
and follow their instructions to get your password emailed to you at an alternate address.

to change it, you may have to ask a few questions on help desk to retrieve it.or you could cancel the account and set a new one up. you should be able to change your account pasword through customer service then create a new one using the old email address. use a good virus sweeper ie avast or spy hunter to run a check on your system DO NOT use the XP doctor that comes up when you use the internet that itself is a trogen. and i would not recomend any norton programms thy can upset your system big time.

Since you cannot get into Facebook and you are having problems logging into your original Facebook mail you will have to verify your identity with Facebook to proceed.
Since this can take awhile it is easier to contact yahoo to retrieve your account info.
