Hi Abel,
You have to hit the TV to start it means there is some looseness inside. Do'nt keep doing it please, because continuous hitting will create another problems. Show the TV to some good Tech and get it fixed.

your backlight inverter has failed. This will require a new replacement part. Once you find your replacement just remove the old and put in the new. Try shopjimmy.com, ebay or encompass parts!

I own a L42W761 which was randomly going off and on. Sometimes it would stay on, however the power light (an amber light) would blink amber, and eventually it would shut off. From time to time it would for no reason come on and then eventually shut off. An examination of the power board did not reveal any obvious defects, i.e. bulged or leaking capacitors. The problem turned out to be a bad connection between the input power module and the wire terminal which had a pvc protective sleeve. The factory had the post of the power module incorrectly connected to the wire terminal. Instead of the post being inserted into the connector, it was inserted so that one side of the post was between the pvc sleeve and the outer part of the wire connector

Look on the remote for a button labelled ASPECT,P SIZE, ZOOM or FORMAT. Press it until picture is desired size.

wonder if i can ask you for a little info as well on the lefthand side of the board there is a 3 legged part think its printed as 303 on board could you tell me that part number please thats on the chip thanks in advance

Return to dealer for service, This is a common problem of a bad backlight on LCD Monitors. If it is on the top comming down it is the top lamp,from bottom up is the bottom lamp. Hope this helps you .
