Question about Olympus DS-2 Digital Voice Recorder
I believe it is a twenty digit serial number. The software is for a Olympus digital voice recorder. Model DS 330
I just bought a used DM-40, and formatted my device before reading that I lost the voice guide files. I tried the above links and s/n for installing DSSplayer 7 but no joy. Does anyone have the files who would be willing to email them to me, and tell me which folder to place them in? Or provide a working s/n for a v7 installation? Thanks, Mike

SOURCE: olympus ds-2400 voice recorder is saving files as
The DS-2400 were one of the first Olympus DVRs to use the new DSS Pro (.ds2) format.
We later discovered that you will need to update the firmware to in order to have it revert to the standard DSS format (.dss)
You will need the DS-2400_FirmwareUpdate_DssClassic to make this happen. All certified dealers will have access to this firmware update.
Stay classy,

Could it be that the files are just being regularly accessed by one of the server admin tools and the DSS Player application interprets an open file as 'being transcribed'
What happens when a copy of a .DSS file is made to an operators machine and then loaded locally for transcription?
