Often these devices use the same style fuses ("blade style") as modern cars. YOu may find what you need at the automotive section of WalMart.

LG Monitor (L1933TR-SF) No power. Wife cntrl-alt-del and monitor shut down. Fuse? Lamp?

neither one. Almost all lcd, plasma, and dlp monitors utilize capacitors to form a static charge to energize the screen. Those capacitors are extremely tempermental, and can go out with no notice at all.
It will work just fine, turn off, then when you turn it back on, no power. Both Best-Buy and Fry's electronics have tech's that will replace your blown out capacitors. Most of the new monitors don't have fuses anymore, nor do they have a lamp in the traditional sense. They use a chip/grid system, and the capacitors energize the grid .

The small ceramic fuse inside the monitor has blown. Where can I geta replacement, and what is its value. It is difficukt to read whether it is 3.15amp or 15am?

wvc12, You will need to look with magnifing glass. could be ".315a or 3.15a" Check with Newark for proper rating( fast-blo or slo-blo) . LittleFuse makes both types. Will also need to know first 2 or 3 letters in front of amperage. Also check "" You will also need to determine if fuse blew from "old age" and just got "tired" or did it blow because some other active (solid state) or passive device has failed!!! Good luck with this one. 12fixlouie

My dell 2005fpw flashing screen

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed DELL monitors to get some ideas what to look for:
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

You need to replace the fuse. Look in your owner manual under index and look for fuse box location. Remove the fuse box cover and find the fuse that states cigar lighter or mirror. Remove that fuse and replace with new 15 amp fuse. Your fuse box should have a fuse puller and auxilary fueses

They might be referring to a diode connected to the big silver capicitor and screwed to the case.
These can go short circuit causing the fuse to fail.

Blowing fuses

Isn't the 1 amp fuse too small? Usually 12 volt operated electronics require a higher amperage fuse. Check with the adaptirs owners manual first before changing again.

No power to monitor.

Hello mousemilk,

The monitor itself is defective and can be either:

1) Replaced under warranty

2) Repaired at a local shop. If this is the case and you are NOT under warranty - the best solution is to buy a new monitor.

Take care!
