May I thank any repliers in advance for their time and effort. The problem; INOVIX IMP 1112 has been working fine until on holiday, used the battery charger via small 5 pin connector to recharge. Once charged the mp3 screen showed all directories empty, so no music could play. On return connected via usb to laptop. The music and other directory's files from mp3 display ok on computer when in explorer. MP3 still shows all directories empty. Any help please.

Hi Charlie.

I'm on my third IMP-1112 - they are clearly temperamental products!

I'm not familiar with your specific problem (mine were to do with it not being recognised by the computer, causing the computer to crash, not charging, etc.), but I have found that re-loading the firmware can often sort out its glitches.

Did you get a disc with the machine? You should have. Just follow the instructions to the letter. This will wipe any files on the player, so you'll need to reload them too.

I use Windows Media Player to load my MP3s onto it, after using WMP to rip them from my CDs. It has worked very smoothly for me - use 'Shuffle' to REPLACE the existing songs, or 'Sych' to just add.

When I plug my player into the USB port, I can open and move around the files just like on any other drive or storage medium.

So, try a Firmware reload first.

Whow come my rca th1100a mp3 player shows that there is music on it while plugged into computer, but shows that it's empty when I unplug it ?hat's your problem?

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player will create a MP3 music file for each music track. Click on this link for instruction on converting music files to mp3 file format :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5798418-creating_transferring_mp3_music_files

All music files show empty-then i connected to computer, it showed files were there but wouldn't play. Erased using computer and reloaded okay but doesn't show up on list???

Hi oroberts62,
Are you sure the music files you're trying to play is of the correct format? A .mp3 extension doesn't always mean the encoding is in mpeg-3 layer audio. Try re encoding all the music files using a free encoder or converter, then seeing if they show up on the player.

Mp3 not playing music in device

check your file type that you are putting into the mp3 player. This is a common mistake. Most accept MP3 but not other file types such as WMA from windows media player or AAC from Itunes. If all that is good then check where on the mp3's file system the files went using my computer. If they arent in the right folders than they might not show up

Inovix imp-1112 mp3 player problems

Hi. I've had similar problems with the same model.

Have you tried a Firmware re-install yet? If not, do that first using the CD supplied with it.

Whilst it's plugged into your USB port, it'll hopefully also get a bit of a charge.  I notice on mine that the player will only charge from the USB port when the side on/off switch is in the 'on' (up) position, although there are times when the computer will 'reject' the player with the switch in this position - a series of 'ding-dongs' as it connects and disconnects from the USB port!

If this happens to you, just keep trying!  Come back to it each day, and try another Firmware re-load!

Mine took a few days, but then decided to come to life - weird machine!

INOVIX IMP-1112 MP3 crashing my computer.

sounds like bad news - if the flash (update to firmware) failed during update, the item is more than likely dead. Warranty return possible? Can you try another usb device on that same pc? just to verify the usb ports are working properly and supplying proper power to the devices.

Down laoding music

iTune format will not play in a MP3 Player, you must first convert them to MP3 format.

Portable WMA/MP3 P0layer IMP-65

Hey! I have the same player like you have. The only difference is that my player has no FM, but this has not to be a problem. I say it like this, send me on my email a file wich makes you problems to see if it showes the same problem. Maybe the files wich your player allowes you to play on must be with copyright or something like that. We should try to do it like this and see if you file works on my player or not. My email is ([email protected]) Best regards, Laurentiu no name
