SOURCE: pandigital novel 7" WHITE ereader wont turn on.
You
can try pressing the reset button with a straightened paperclip of pin.
If that doesn't do anything removing the back and unplug the battery.
Leave it unplugged for a minute or two and reconnect it. Be careful
unplugging it as you don't want to put to much force on the wires. You
can use a small screw driver or tweezers to pry on the plug. The white
plug here
is what you're locking for. See if it powers on and hopefully it does.
If not you may have to contact Pandigital.
Hope this helps

I had same problem-charged it, and the ereader would flash on, blink and turn off. Tried charging it several times and even tried to use it whilst charging. It went totally dead and couldn't even get it to power up.
I reported to Pandigital and they want me to ship to them for 3-4 week replacement. Needed it now for travel, so bought another. at Bed, Bath & Beyond. It had same issue so I took it back to BBB and got a third one. SAME PROBLEM!
OK - insert a few swear words here - turns out I was trying to charge the thing through the headphone jack on the bottom. The charging port is on the left side.
I've charged this thing before several times. What the ***(#@ happened to my mind!! Cannot believe I went through all that and now I have to cancel my support ticket and hopefully return the now extra Novel to BBB.
So, check where you plug in the charger...

There are two ways to do it. You can either update the firmware and it will erase everything for you, or you can do a factory reset, and return to factory settings. Go to Settings, PDN settings (not the Android settings menu) and scroll right to the Reset Defaults location. Tap on the reset button and you will be taken back to factory default settings. It might take a while to reload, but after everything it will be back to factory defaults from when you first bought it. Updating the firmware might be your best option if you care to resell it, because it may cause less issues for the next person and less chance of any returns.

There should be a small hole to stick a paper clip into to do a reset, press it gently til it reboots
had same problem. I figured it out. While pressing the home key on the bottom of the tablet, press the on/off button until a black screen appears with green words on the side, which says upgrading...please wait...wait. It should take you to the Pandigital screen with a small bar underneath it with green going across. It should work.
