This radio has no IP-Bus (Pioneer's peripheral plug in) plug on the back of the unit or any connection for USB or 1/8" stereo headphone jack on it. You will not be able to conect an iPod to this unit. Visit the website at www.pioneerelectronics.com to see their current iPod solutions. They have multiple head units that allow for you to charge iPod and iPhones as well and give you control through the head unit or through the iPod itself.

Pioneer DEH-P9300 and Ipod Adapter Problem

The correct iPod adapter for this is the CD-IB100ii, not the PAC piece you bought. With the correct adapter you will be able to charge your iPod, get text and control from the head unit, and of course audio playback through your system.

Cannot select ipod as a source on my deh-1500

The RCA jacks are preamp outputs (to use with a sub or external amp) not input to use with an iPod

There is no way to direct-connect an iPod to the DEH-1500.

You can use an iTrip or other FM-radio transmitter to play your iPod through an unused channel on the FM radio band

Ipod?

There is no IP-BUS plug on the back of this model radio, nor is there a 3.5mm heaphone jack for auxillary input. The only way possible is through a wired FM Modulator.

My suggestion would be to replace the head unit. This model is a very inexpensive unit ($100retail) and can be replaced with a unit that is similar in features but with the addition of ipod input. You can get a radio with direct ipod control and charging for less than $150! Hope this was helpful.
