Try opening the case and ensure all the power cables from the fans to the motherboard are securely connected.

You can download the drivers from the Compaq/HP WEBsupport/download page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the XP orVista Windows version of the drivers you require and install them. Click onthis link to download the drivers: -

download the windows xp driver from the hp site it also supports win2k

select download drivers, type in "hp compaq dx2200"

Continuous beeps mean that the power supply or motherboard are faulty.

Operating System Provided is Win XP PRO (see link below).
To change OS, hard disk must be formatted and install a new OS (i.e Win98) or a put new hard disk as master and install Win98 on it.
