Are you having any fault codes along with this issue? Does the fans and light stop working also? This is unusual, is this the G or O model? I need more information to assist you.
Sounds like something to do with a power saving feature either from HP itself or from Windows. It could also be that for some reason your computer is overheating, which it than shuts itself off to protect the processor. I would try playing with your power saving features, and cleaning out the fans.
I had the same problem with mine. There are two voltage capacitors in there. A low and high. The hig voltage is bad. I had to have mine in the shop. Cost about $400
You have a timer that has been accidently set by someone by the remote control. If you have an instruction amnual for the tv, it will tell you how to turn off the tv's timer.
