Jumper identification

I don't see it,

http://www.via.com.tw/download/mainboards/4/8/P4MA-Pro.jpg

I DO see what looks to be a jumper cap, in-between IDE 1 and DIMM 2; BUT only in this photo,

http://www.ebay.com/itm/VIA-EPIA-P4MA-Pro-Celeron-2GHZ-Motherboard-Tested-512MB-CPU-Warranty-/250955461946?pt=Motherboards&hash=item3a6e1c753a

Reddish/Orange in color. (Use mouse zoom in feature)

I'm also looking dead at the Motherboard Manual, and do not see it shown, or listed,

http://www.via.com.tw/en/products/mainboards/others/p4ma_pro533.jsp#manuals

On the middle/left side, where in blue it has in a list;
BIOS
Drivers
Manual,

Click on Manual.

(It's a PDF file. The computer you are using now has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files.

ORDINARILY it takes maybe 20 seconds tops, to download a PDF file. This one took almost 2 minutes!
Letting you know in case you do not see anything happening.
I just waited on the blue download progress bar.

Do you have the Clear CMOS jumper, down by the VIA southbridge chip?
It's right above, and in-between the USB 3 and 4 header, and the Front Panel header.

P4MAM-L with CPU P2.4GHz runs at 1.2GHz only

Reset your motherboard BIOS. Open your computer casing where the motherboard lies in and then find the bios setting jumper, it should be located near the battery. To reset your bios, refer to the motherboard manual. :-)

Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz

Hello,
The processor you are talking about is a single core processor capable of Hyper Threading. (HT).
When you allow hyperthreading in the BIOS, Windows will show 2 ghost processors in the device manager.

If you are authorized to acces the BIOS setup,,enter the setup and look for HT or hyperthreading. If you disable hyperthtreading in BIOS, you will only see one processor in device manager.
Besides, if it is a dual core the BIOS must know.

Look on the case of the computwr where the Windows logo apperas, you may find mentioned :With HT technology. It used to be a boasting/selling mantra.

Hope it helps.
