You may have to into the MSN Video and Audio Configuration utility and make it use the mic built into the webcam. It may be looking for audio input from another source, if this is the case, it won't work from the Cam itself.

No incoming video

The fault is at their end not yours as they can see & hear you. If in MSN messenger, there is a small icon of a camera next to window where picture should be, click on it & select show webcam. Hope this helps.
Have a nice day.

QuickCam mic doesn't work

I read another post that said to go to Logitech itself for up-dates. This I did......downloaded all new drivers, etc. (the disc that comes with the cam must be out of date !). Then when that was done, I went back on Skype and where you do a 'voice test' I was able to this time around to "choose" my webcam - this was not coming up before at all. So in doing that it activated the mic on the webcam and all was OK. We seniors are supposed to be savvy with the forever changing world of electronic devices today! (LOL)

Logitech QuickCam Express: Microphone not working

If you have windows messenger follow below

Windows XP
Windows Messenger is a native Instant Messenger application to Windows XP. This application can be used to set the output device of your choice. In turn, this information will carry over to the MSN Messenger 7.5 application settings.
Launch Windows Messenger and execute the audio tuning wizard.
  1. Go to “Start”.
    Select “Run”.
    Type “msmsgs” and click “OK”.

  4. Once this process is complete, close the Windows Messenger application.
The configuration change made through Windows Messenger should now be set in the MSN Messenger 7.5 application.

Audio on logitech quickcam notebook webcam not working

go into your settings, look for sound and audio devices?go into the audio file, and look for default device and look for your sound card which should be in the column, all 3 should read the same,if not just schroll down and find them,go into advance and put all the settings to full, then go into volume and advance, right click on options, then go into properties and look for mic volume and tick it,and if you then go into your msn, there should be a program thats tests your mic for you.ok?

Logitech Quickcam for Notebooks Deluxe - Web camera - colour - audio - USB

check the Audio tuning wizard of the program used with the web cam. make sure the right speakers and microphone are selected. I have heard of a bug in MSN Messenger 7.5 that doesn't allow proper setup of sound. If that's your current setup, you can simply use the Windows Messenger Audio Tuning Wizard to setup your sound properties. Either go through the start menu or go start->run->'msmsgs' after completing the audio tuning wizard, close Windows Messenger. The settings should be adopted into MSN Messenger.
