Question about Sony KP-53S75 53" Rear Projection Television
I have a 53" Sony projection television. My son turned it on and there was no picture or sound.
TV repiar looked at it and a flyback part no. 8 598 994 20 is required. Also D2578 transitor part no. 8 729 048 46 is required. I went to partstore.com
and they list a different part number for the flyback but both parts are less than $80 total.
The TV repair place wants wanted to charge me $330. I am mechanically inclined [cars]. Is this something a novest can repair.
And does this sound right..the TV has absolutely no power or sound. to fix this problem...a Flyback and transistor--does that sound correct ?
Sony KP-53S75 53 in WILL NOT TURN ON AT ALL..NOT EVEN A STANDBY LIGHT. WHAT COULD IT BE?

Dead set , more than likely the TECH that came out is correct. It is common for this unit.
It seems though, that you questioning the repair cost. To me that repair cost is very, very, very good.
Technician's are experience people in their field, like a DOCTOR, it is not the time but the schooling and experience that you are paying for.
Good Night, big IRISH.
